09/01/09 Well down another couple of tenths of a pound so a good way to start off the month

09/02/09 Today is a century day - sort of... I have less than 100 # to lose now... 99.4# left to go. YEAH ME!

09/07/09 Saturday we had company over so my only "exercise" was yard work and house cleaning. I gained a half a pound so I wasn't too happy about that. I watched my diet carefully yesterday and got back out walking and it paid off-I'm back down below last Friday's weight.

09/08/09 Halfway to the Century Mark-down 50#. Happy Birthday to Star Trek.

Six years ago today I was going through all the preop work with Dr. McCarty's office. What a weird incredible journey this has been... At least I'm back on track now.

09/09/09 We went out walking last night and bumped it up to an hour. We had a couple of stops during our walk and we stopped the timer while shopping. Unfortunately I am on the bottom of the "wave" of my weekly weight and it snuck up a couple of tenths of a pound. I'm saying it's muscle weight-yeah that's it...

Tonight we'll walk for an hour without a break and see where that puts me on the 10th.

09/10/09 Things are pretty stressful at work right now. I've been fretting all night long about deals and my career. On the plus side, all the worrying knocked my weight down 2 pounds...

09/15/09 It's been raining all week so I walked inside at work yesterday.

09/16/09 I walked at the mall for 45 minutes last night but the darn scale is still going in the wrong direction. I need to get out there again tonight and really step up the exercise.

09/18/09 I reconnected with old friends on Facebook this week. We're talking about a reunion next May. I was 180# in high school and 165# when I knew all of them. Wow-if that's not a motivator to get down to 250# I dunno what is. Foretunately it is about 10# per month I need to loose which is healthy and doable. Walk, walk, walk...

09/20/09 Well the scale is going in the wrong direction. I think I need to do some extra walking today...

09/22/09 Dr. Felts was pleased with my progress at my 2 month followup yesterday. Down 14 pounds from last month according to their scale. I went out walking for over an hour and yeah the scale went down. I have less than 90 pounds left to lose to get to my goal.

09/23/09 Walked 4 laps in an hour and fifteen minutes last night. My BMI dropped down to the 54's. Lost 0.9 pounds from yesterday. I updated my goal date to 2010 and got a "warning" message about trying to drop over 3# a week. I looked at the graph and so far I am on track to get there. Dr. Felts said that 10-12 # per month was safe and healthy. Based on my goal I have to drop 12.76 # per month so that pretty close to the goal the office has set for me. Mary asked that I provide a testimonial for the ROSE procedure and they are going to use me for their brochure-yeah I'm a star!

09/26/09 With all the stress at work and just snacks at my desk instead of a proper lunch I've taken off another 2.3# since yesterday. Dr. Felts had dinner with the folks who designed the tool he used for the ROSE and they think my progress is just incredible.

While work is stressful, I don't want it to be the norm. If I get this big deal closed next week I'll be able to go back to normal lunch breaks, exercising in the evening instead of emailing executives, and focusing on my family rather than work.

09/27/09 Didn't get in enough exercise yesterday and snacked on some extra cheese and crackers so my weight went up a pound but not much is on the schedule for today so I'll walk for an hour and stick to the menu plan.

09/30/09 Well yesterday was a pizza day both for lunch and dinner. I also haven't walked for DAYS and it is showing on the scale. Once this quarter at work is behind me I think I can get back into my routine. My boss said I could have Friday off if all goes well today...
