My WLS Journey
05/01/04 Robin and I have declared ourselves as married and added her to my insurance. We submitted the new insurance info to Sherri and hopfully will be on our way to getting her approved.
My weightloss seems to have jump-started again. After several weeks of one pound losses I am back up to 3 pounds this week.
05/07/04 Well the honeymoon is over... I actually gained 3 pounds last week. I need to be better about preparing meals at home. I fell into some old habits for the last couple of weeks and the rain on the weekends cut down on my walking at the faire. By the 2nd I had gained back 4 pounds and just couldn't shed it this week. Well, at least it was after a weird period of rapid weight loss. I'm not going to let it deflate me too much. I just need to pay more attention to what I put in my mouth.
05/08/04 I went for my annual physical with Dr. Otto yesterday. I was poked and prodded and probed and stuck and after all was said and done he was pretty pleased with my Weight Loss progress. He said the key to continued success will be exercising every day.
While the Faire has been going on, I've been really good about getting in a good amount of exercise for the week, but my daily routine hasn't been the best. I need to get out and walk every day. When I was a kid the government had a program called "Walk a Block a Day." Those Canadians had a good idea... I really will try to get out more.
After being so down heartened about my weight gain last week I really paid attention to what I ate yesterday and made sure to get in plenty of liquids. I managed to take off 2 pounds. The weekend seems like it should be nice so we are going to try to walk both days at the Faire. I hope to be down to 324# again by Monday. Hopefully I'll get rid of another pound after that by next Friday and I can be back on my weightloss track. I don't really mind if I plateau or if it takes a couple of weeks to lose a pound but when I start gaining, that's really frightening...
05/09/04 Well, it only took two days (and watching what I ate and a ton of walking) but I am down to my 324 weight again. I need to be careful for the next couple of days because I really should be at 323 or lower this week. I intend to get out there and walk each day.
05/20/04 After yo-yoing for several days I weighed this morning and was down 3 pounds. It puts me into just the Morbidly Obese category-who would have ever thought I'd be glad to be Morbidly Obese?
05/21/04 Well I went up a pound since yesterday and because it is Friday it is being counted as my official weight. I am going on vacation and won't have a scale around anyplace so it will be interesting to see how my weight does when I return.
05/31/04 We made it back from Canada all in one piece. I ate a whole bunch of food while I was there but we also walked our little feet off so at the end of the vacation I had actually lost a pound. I got in enough liquid while there but not nearly enough water for what my body is used to. I'm glad to be home so that I can get back into my routine.
