My WLS Journey
04/09/04 Robin and I attended the info seminar last night. This time we went for her. Dr. Arnold and Dr. Nick were speaking. They now show a video of the operation that I could have done without but the information was great. It was interesting going through it again with a new perspective. Your questions and perceptions about WLS really change when you've already been through it and are 6 months down the road.
Robin's going through the insurance game now. Her plan typically doesn't cover WLS but some people at her office have been approved so she figured she might as well see if they'll approve her. Frankly, I'm looking forward to going through Amber's pre-op meetings again.
Update: Okay, I took a look at my goal weight and decided that even though it was a good goal originally, it still puts me at a BMI of 30. I decided I wanted to knock it down to 29.9 and so I adjusted my goal weight down from 190 to 187.9. I still have a long way to go but I'm still losing every week and with Scarborough Faire starting back up, I'll be getting tons of exercise every weekend.
04/24/04 I was working on BMI calculations for myself after having gone down one more point this week. Here's what I have figured out for myself:
Weight Range BMI Where Am I? > 316 pounds =
Super Mordibly Obese> 50 * 252-315 pounds =
Mordibly Obese40-50 - 191-251 pounds =
Obese30-39 - 159-190 pounds =
Overweight25.5-29.9 - 118-158 pounds =
"Normal"18.5-25 - < 117 pounds =
Underweight< 18 -
