12/01/04 It's been a bad couple of months for me. This is the first time I've gained weight on a month-to-month basis. I need to get back out and walk everyday. Now that the weather is cold and rainy it's going to be a bit tough but I'm going to have to do it.
12/10/04 Even though it appears that I've gained a pound since last week I'm feeling pretty good about things. All week long I've been at 289.5 and I went for a 2 mile walk last night and took off 1 1/2 pounds.
I am rededicating myself to getting out and walking, although I cancelled my deal with Robin for $1 a day. I found it was too restrictive and I didn't want it to be a financial burden on her. I want to have the freedom to just do 1 mile if I'm feeling lazy that day or go for 3 if I feel up to it. Come January I'll have to be walking at least 2 miles 3 times a week for the Health Care Rebate so I need to get into the habit of doing that again.
12/17/04 Ok the holidays are kicking my butt... I'm gaining! Yikes!
I have some time off work now though and I am going to get back into walking. I'm headed out right now as a matter of fact...12/19/04 All the walking seems to be helping. I lost another pound today! Yesterday I went out for a 40 minute walk-well I ended up walking for an hour and 15 minutes and covered more than three miles!
I had a bit of an "incident" yesterday. Robin and I got ribs at Tony Romas-I've had them a couple of times post-op so I wasnt' too worried about anything. Well I guess I had never had the "Carolina Honeys" before and the sauce got to me. We went to a movie afterwards and I was quesy all through the show. Driving home I got sick and had to pull over to the side of the road. That hasn't happened to me since I was a newbie. Oh well, at least I know the "lil general" is still working...
12/20/04 All the walking seems to be helping. I'm down another pound today. We took it easy on food yesterday given the experience after Tony Romas. I didn't walk but we did go to the Adopt-A-Family and hang out with them for a couple of hours. I am going to walk today but I suspect I'll just do 2 miles or so. As long as I get out there and get moving my metabolism seems to click into high gear.
12/24/04 I've been walking everyday but because it has been so cold I've been doing less than 2 miles. I'll get out there and walk some more today. I've also been eating bigger meals throughout the day so that is having an effect as well. Oh well, hopefully things will go ok through tomorrow with Christmas Dinner and then I can get back to my regular eating habits in the New Year.
Robin & Stompy
01/04/05 Well things seem to be going in the right direction. We've decided to bring our lunches to work and eat at home a lot more. I lost another pound today and am really wanting to get back down to 282.5# which I haven't been since Halloween. Robin has a little bit to lose to get down to her wedding dress size and I need to do my part to make sure we both get to where we need to be.01/07/05 All the dieting and logging our food on fitday seems to be helping. I lost 4 1/2 pounds this week but more importantly my BMI got back down to 44. I am only 1 pound away from my lowest weight of 282.5 and I am hoping to get out walking this weekend.
01/21/05 While it looks like I gained a pound on paper I've actually been doing pretty good this week. I've been out walking a lot and eating less at lunches by taking Tuna Kits to work everyday. I guess this weekend will be the test to see if I can get under 282.5 which has been my lowest on this journey so far.
01/24/05 Despite a weekend of heavy snacking, I DID walk 3 miles on Sunday and managed to get back down to 282.5#. That's my all-time low which I haven't been since October of 2004. I'm looking forward to the next half a pound to break this roller coster yo-yo plateau.
While I ate a lot this weekend, it was all healthy food and within program guidelines other than a bit high on calories. We are back to carrots and tuna kits for lunch.
01/26/05 Well, this dreaded plateau is finally OVER! I have been hovering between 283 and 291 for the last 3 months. I've been working really hard in the New Year to get the weight off and it's finally happened. I hit 281.5 this morning. Yeah!
