More on her adventures and endeavors in a future issue of Dabo! News from the Hollywood front. It looks like Enterprise is going to have another season; Paramount is not ready to throw in the towel yet. I have been impressed with the re-tool of sorts that the show has gone through, however, I hope that they will wrap up this current chapter in the expanse and get onto other story lines. This year look for the DVD season disks of the original Star Trek as well as the DVD sets for Voyager. I guess they figure that with only 3 seasons of Star Trek, they can release them along side of Voyager. Either way you look at it though it will be a little expensive to purchase 10 sets of DVDs this year. I was truly happy to see the release of the first season of ‘Lost in Space’. Of course all of you know that the Lost in Space series takes place in the far future of 1997! Yikes! I was watching the first couple of episodes and realized that these shows lasted much longer than the current standard of 42-43 minutes in length. Back in the 60’s the show was 50 – 52 minutes in length. Now when you watch older episodic television you know just how much is being cut to fit the show into the modern time slot and just how many more commercials you are watching each week. Also after watching the first few shows of the first season I now know that the Robinsons had much more tolerance than I would have of a certain stowaway. Doctor Smith would have been vaporized after the first couple of screw ups if I were in charge, then of course there would not have been much of a series would there? A group of friends and I were at a charity function last weekend in Hollywood where we ran into Erin Gray of Buck Rogers fame. She told us that she was contacted by Universal studios about the release of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century on DVD. She was scheduled to go in to do some interviews and background tapings for the release of the season one DVD set. They hope to have it out sometime this year. Do you remember how many seasons Buck Rogers ran on the air? Only 2! It sure seemed like it was on for more seasons than just two, anyway look forward to its release as well. That’s all for now from the Hollywood front and that’s it for this issue. Happy New Year everyone and have a prosperous year! For now, the Dabo wheel is Closed.
